Got Questions?
Finding a local church you can partner with can be a long and frustrating journey. At Real Life we want to make this decision a little easier for you by answering some of the common questions we are asked.
Why doesn’t Real Life look or act like other churches I have been to?
We are trying to reach a specific segment of the population and because of that the things we do during church, the programs we offer even the structure and design of our building have been developed and designed on purpose.
We are not trying to be like every other church, if we were you probably wouldn’t come here either.
What are your service times?
Currently we only have one Sunday worship experience at 9:45 a.m. prior to and during worship you can help yourself to our free café where you can choose bottled water, coffee and a donut to enjoy as we worship together. Come grab a bite to eat and a drink and join us this Sunday!
How do I get to Real Life?
Click here for a map and to get driving directions.
How should I dress?
What you wear is not as important to us as your connection with God. For that reason we keep our worship service casual and relaxed. You will find some in shorts or business casual you may even see a suit once in a while.
What about programs for my children?
Children are very important to us here at Real Life – they have to be there are quite a lot of them! Julie Zirfas has a degree in elementary education and has been a daycare provider for many years. During your child’s time in Kid’s Church they will have a bible lesson, do a craft, sing a song or listen to a story. Whatever she’s got them doing you can trust that they are well cared for.
Do you have weekly events for middle/high school students?
Project Y is our mid-week event for middle and high school students. Project Y is currently on a break but we hope to resume it soon. Stay tuned for updates!
How can I get to know others at Real Life?
Relationships are a key part of our lives. At Real Life we utilize Life Groups as the means to build relationship with others in the church. You can find more information here, but the basics are this, you will meet with a group of 6-12 other people for the purpose of building relationships, studying and applying God’s word for daily living.
What does Real Life CC believe?
We believe in changed lives. Simple. Direct. This is what drives us to do the things we do and helps us to determine the way we do them. The only way this can happen is by becoming a follower of Christ. Our desire is to function Biblically without excuse or apology. A list of our core beliefs and values is available here.
Where should I park when I arrive?
If you are our guest then we invite you to park directly in front of the building. There is a wheelchair ramp in the center of the building.
(If you are a regular attendee or a partner with RLCC then we ask that you park farther away from the building so that there is more room close to the doors for those with special needs and our guests.)
What is Communion:
At Real Life we offer the opportunity to take Communion every Sunday. Communion was instituted by Jesus on the night he was betrayed by His disciple, Judas (Matthew 26:26-50). The practice of the early Church in the book of Acts was to offer communion on every Sunday so at Real Life we follow that example.
-The small piece of bread represents the body of Christ offered as a sacrifice for our sin (Matthew 26:26).
-The small cup of grape juice represents the blood that Jesus shed on the cross that cleanses us from our sin (Matthew 26:27,28).
Jesus told His disciples to “do this in remembrance of me” (1 Corinthians 11:24-26).
-At Real Life we do not force anyone to take communion nor do we refuse anyone the right to take communion, however there are a few things you should know.
1. Our opinion is that only those who have a relationship with Jesus Christ and understand His sacrifice for their salvation should take communion.
2. When you take communion you should be remembering the sacrifice of Jesus to earn your freedom from sin by his substitutionary death on the cross (1 Corinthians 11:28,29).
3. If you are not in a proper frame of mind to take communion it would be better for you not to take communion then to take it simply because it is offered (1 Corinthians 11:27).
