Ryan and his family have been in Olathe since the beginning of the year working toward launching 33church in the Fall. Here’s the latest REAL NEWS from Real Life!

At the pool party in June Liz Moore and TJ Landreth were immersed into Christ and became the newest members of the Kingdom of God from Real Life! Yeah! Show ‘em some love!

In June Real Life took over the El Dorado bowling lanes (literally took 7 lanes to get us all in!) and had a great time! The Young family walked away BIG winners as Tyson (the Dad) took the prize for best game in the adult division and Tanner (one of the sons) took first prize for best game in the Jr. division! BTW – Tanner got a water balloon kit I’m sure his mother is loving and Tyson got a Wow Worship CD I’m sure his wife is loving (same person). In addition Tyson and Tanner both got to sign the bowling pin that is now on display on the coffee counter at Real Life.

Join us on August 8th for a potluck lunch with hot dogs! And on August 29th at the Landreth’s for the annual birthday pool party!

Andrew Schwarz preaching June 13th

Growth necessitates work.

The first church grew from 12 to 120 to 3000+ to 5,000 just counting the men (maybe 15,000 total) in a matter of weeks! With that kind of growth you would expect to find problems cropping up and that’s exactly what happened. Growth always necessitates work to counter (or try to minimize) the issues that will come up.

This week at Real Life we’ll look at the incredible growth the first church had and what solutions they used to work through the problems their growth brought on.

Their growth necessitated work – but their goal of changed lives remained the same.

RLCC Pool Party 2010!

It’s that time again! Real Life’s Annual pool party at the El Dorado City pool!

This year’s party will be from 6:30-8:30pm on Saturday June 19th

We’ll grill hamburgers and hotdogs at the pool. You bring drinks, sides, deserts, whatever goes with grillin’ and we’ll all have a great time!

Once again this year we’ll take a few moments during the party to have a baptism service. So if you’re ready to take that step of faith and obediance just let Corey know so we’re prepared.

What is Worship? This Sunday

If you’re not a “churchy” person you may not know what worship is. Worship is used for so many things churchy people may not even fully understand it. We say worship is what happens on Sunday… we call the music worship… we use worship as a very generic label for a lot of things. But what is worship?

Worship is how you approach God.

If you are approaching God through music – focusing on His goodness, grace, etc. then music becomes the means through which you approach God and is worship.
If you are approaching God by listening to a message, taking notes, reading your Bible, etc. then those activities become worship.
Whether you are serving someone by giving them a ride, making a cup of coffee, cleaning the church so others don’t focus on the mess, greeting people in the parking lot, tithing (giving a 10th of your income to God through the local church) if you are doing it for God it’s called worship.

How do you worship?

Sunday Prep

We continue to need volunteers to clean in preparation for our Sunday service. What seems like a mundane task has a HUGE impact on our ability to reach every person possible for Jesus. And as we continue to grow we see first had the truth: More people = More mess. Think about it, Quick Trip, restraunts, they all try to keep their buildings as clean as possible because of what a clean building says to those who enter it.

1. We care!

2. We want you to be comfortable!

3. We want you to focus on the message instead of the mess.

4. We want to be good stewards of what we have.

Why not share the burden and help out! Check at the 411 this Sunday for more detailed directions and to sign up for your chance to help out!

Cleaning the building will take about 1.5 hours and there is a checklist to help make sure everything gets done.

Hey Lifer’s, Do you play the guitar? Did you use to be able to wail in high school/college? Do you have the gear? Are you thinking about picking up where you left off all those years ago (or days)?

Well, we’ve got the opportunity of a lifetime for you! We’d really like to add another guitar (acoustic or electric) to our worship band. That way we’d have two going instead of just one and everybody knows that two guitars is better than one!

If you play chords and know at least a few then get in touch with Andrea and let her know your interested in strapping your guitar back on and rockin’ out! Then come to a practice and we’ll see how good you really are!

Who knows… you could be playing with the band on a rotating/regular or as needed basis in no time!
